Onsite AV & VC Technician, London Based, Strong AV Support Background, Excellent Client Service Skills, 1 Month's Notice, Permanent

When speaking with this candidate I am always impressed by his positive attitude and professional manner. He is a great communicator and it is easy to see why he has progressed into a role where he has to look after C Level clients in potentially stressful situations. I believe he will be an asset to a managed service provider or even working for a client direct.

An experienced AV and VC Support Technician, currently working for a large AV specialist at their client site for a major multi-national corporation in the City,  where he supports their senior executives on videoconferences, presentations and events. He has worked his way up to supporting the “Executive Office” from initially working in the client company’s reception; he has achieved this through dedication and exceptional customer care skills, to the extent that client staff often request him by name to support their events.

This candidate is now looking for a new opportunity where he can make use of his knowledge of AV and VC technology, his support skills and his customer facing skills. He is looking for a role in London, ideally The City, is available at one month’s notice and is looking for a salary of £30K+.

Home Automation Technology Business Manager/Director, Outstanding Track Record Delivering Growth, Strong Technical & Service Delivery Background, South UK Based, Immediately Available

This candidate has approached us here at AV Jobs very recently; he is an outstanding professional and I was personally impressed by the rapid career progression and major successes demonstrated on his CV.

This candidate’s career so far has been focused on technology for the home; after leaving school with good GCSEs he went straight into work with a retail business selling consumer electronics to the general public; he soon sent on to lead their Custom Install business achieving £200K+ sales per annum (in 1999 -2002!).

After his initial success in retail and then Custom Install, this candidate then joined a major Audio Visual technologies manufacturer. Again, his story here is one of unbroken success, starting in a business to business field sales role, he exceeded all targets given to him and achieving 100% growth for his area over his three years in the role.

He then progressed into the role of Category Manager, responsible for budget of £10Million, Profit & Loss and managing a field sales team, pre- & post sales teams and the stock budget and profile. Again, he delivered growth in line with the Board of Directors aspirations.

Following this he took on the role of Custom Installation Manger, with responsibility for P&L, the field sales team, pre- and post-sales teams, marketing budget and the product portfolio aimed at the UK Custom Install market. Further successes here saw him promoted twice, first to National Sales Manager, and then onto the Board of Directors as Channel Director.

After a very successful 10 years with the same employer, this candidate left following the company restructuring and contracting as they left or reduced their exposure to some sectors.

This candidate is now actively looking for his next challenge where he can make use of his skills in management (sales, personnel/team management, category/product management and service delivery), his commercial acumen (spotting opportunities in niche markets with new technologies), his own strong sales skills and his extensive knowledge of Home Automation and Custom Install technologies and their application. He has extensive knowledge of this market place and good contacts he can work with in the future.

Based in the South of England, this candidate is flexible on the location of his role; he is open to possibilities in either manufacturing, distribution or reseller environments. His previous OTC was c £100k, car and benefits. His main priority is to find a role that excites him and allows him to work to his full potential and prove his worth to a new employer.

Audio Visual Service Delivery Manager, Corporate In-house Client & MSP Experience, US & UK Bases, Immediately Available

I have known this candidate for several years, initially as a hiring client, and have met him several times at industry events such as ISE and The AV Awards (http://www.avawards.com/). He is an approachable and professional person who is well respected in the UK Pro AV community.

This candidate has a track record of success in delivering technology based business solutions for corporate enterprises. He got into AV and collaborative technologies working directly for an end-user client – a large investment firm in New York. He oversaw the complete overhaul of their Audio Visual and Video Conferencing systems and infrastructure, working with senior management to increase user confidence and adoption, enabling the technology to deliver its aims in line with the business needs. This massive undertaking was a complete success, the outcome of which was a significant difference to the company’s bottom line.

Following this initial success, he went on to manage the company’s AV services, implementing service level agreements with third party service providers, ensuring value for the client and reducing AV project turnaround times by 30%.

In 2008 he took the opportunity to establish and develop the European division of a US enterprise level AV solutions and services provider. Again, he was successful in this, building in his previous experience to manage the operation, recruit the required technical and sales staff, build relationships with vendors and service providers, with overall responsibility for budgets and profit & loss.

During this time, he gained experience working with a variety of large corporate customers, gaining insight into the different methods and possibilities of utilising AV and collaboration technologies. This knowledge will be invaluable to end-user clients that he works with in the future, either as an in-house specialist, or with an external service provider in a service delivery role.

This candidate has unique skills and experiences that can make a genuine and sizable difference to the outcomes for organisations looking to get the most from their enterprise technologies.

With bases in the UK (South East) and the US (New York) he is open to opportunities on either side of the Atlantic. He is flexible on salary and is keen to find an opportunity that excites him, where he can make use of his knowledge and experience, and make a difference for his new employer. He is available at short notice and eager to get his teeth into a suitable role as soon as possible.
