Video Conferencing Project Manager & Technical Manager, Strong VC & IT Background, London Based, Immediately Available

This candidate recently approached AV Jobs in search of his next career move. I was quickly impressed with his enthusiasm for the industry and his passion for project management and technology. I can see this candidate being an excellent addition to a technology focused project management team with the capability to take the lead on jobs and manage others to help them achieve their potential.

An experienced Video Conferencing Technical Professional, this candidate has gained extensive experience managing AV & VC installations,  IT networks and server installations. Many of the VC projects that he has managed have required quick turnaround, including installations into security sensitive government sites and healthcare facilities. He has strong client facing experience, offering consultancy services to clients, helping them define the right solutions, then specifying, project managing and implementing the system. He has excellent people management skills, having successfully managed teams of up to 15 engineers in his previous roles.

Actively looking for a new permanent opportunity following the conclusion of an interim position working for a friend in the AV/VC industry. He is based in North London and happy to travel as the role requires. He is available immediately and is looking for a salary of around £42K, but is flexible and understands the need to prove himself in a new role.

AV & VC Design & Commissioning Engineer/Project Manager, Strong Corporate Systems Experience, Immediately Available, Permanent or Contract

I have known this candidate for some time and have always found him to be easy to get on with, with a good sense of humour, but also focused and professional as required. He is not afraid to speak up to clients and colleagues if a project or task is going awry and he can offer a solution.

This candidate is an extensively experienced Senior AV & VC Engineer with 20 years in the industry. He is CTS qualified, and has strong experience of VC, networks and AV systems, including design, documentation, installation, commissioning, project management, maintenance and serving clients on site. He also has experience of managing technical teams, including a team of 15 AV technicians during his time as Chief Technician at a large UK University.

This candidate is technically strong, with excellent communication and client facing skills. He has produced technical project documentation as well as technical summaries for non-technical key personnel in major corporate clients. Also has recent presales experience, helping to put together technical documentation for sales proposals for new integrated solutions into corporate customers.

Currently based in Essex and used to working in London (mostly The City and Canary Wharf); he is happy travelling if required. He is currently working on a freelance consultancy basis for friends within the industry, who can provide references, and is now looking for a new opportunity. Howard would be interested in a permanent role (looking for £40K+) but would also consider a contract/temporary position to help out in the short term if this is your preference.

AV & VC Installation Engineer, Kent Based (Easy Access to London), Strong Corporate Installation Background, Available Immediately, Permanent

I have been speaking with this candidate for a couple of weeks now; he enjoys Audio Visual technology on a personal level and loves his working day, with AV installation being his dream job. Unfortunately he has just today had confirmation of redundancy (the threat of which was why he contacted me in the first place) and so now needs to find a new role ASAP. I believe that his current employer’s loss will be someone else’s gain.

This candidate is an experienced AV Installer currently working (until today) for a systems integrator, where has enjoyed installing Crestron, AMX and Extron based integrated systems for major corporates in London. He has installed the network infrastructure, racks (including rack build), control systems, VC endpoints and Codecs (Polycom and Cisco/Tandberg), displays and projectors, as well as digital signage and IP TV systems. A technically confident installer who prides himself on the quality and speed of his work; he has been requested by name by several clients whilst in his current role.

Redundant with immediate effect, as such this candidate is actively looking for a new opportunity. He is available at short notice (he can start tomorrow in the right role), he is looking for a permanent opportunity offering good career development in the long term. He lives in the Gravesend area of Kent, with easy access to Central London and is happy to travel as the role requires. His current salary is £22.5K and he is looking to improve this to around the £25K level, but is flexible and appreciates that he needs to prove himself to a new employer. He is a British national with full right to work in the UK.

Video Conferencing Business Development Manager, North London Based, City Clients, Strong VC Sales Background, Immediately Available, Permanent

This candidate is a new contact for AV Jobs, and upon speaking to him at length about his previous experience and his career aspirations, I was struck by his friendly, determined and outgoing personality, as well as his extensive knowledge of Video Conferencing technology and the UK VC market.

This candidate is an experienced Video Conferencing and Technology Solution sales person. He has a strong background in consultative sales, both through the channel (working with resellers to sell to corporate end users), with Vendor and Distributor, and with reseller-integrators direct to end users. This candidate has had consistent success selling video conferencing technologies (including Cisco/Tandberg, Radvision, Lifesize, Polycom), IP networking solutions, Professional AV solutions and digital signage. His main customers are City based corporate clients that he has enjoyed working with at senior executive level.

This candidate left his last role in March 2012; he was one of only two staff in the London office. Since joining he built his client base from scratch, succeeding in billing £500K in his 11 months there. He left as the London office looked likely to close, and he was offered to stay on at a reduced salary. Understandably he decided to leave and take the opportunity to travel internationally for two months. He has now returned to London and is actively looking for a permanent opportunity where he can make use of his sales skills, client contacts (he still has good client contacts in the City) and knowledge of Video Conferencing and technology solutions for business.

Based in North London and looking for a salary of around £35K+ but is flexible depending on the package and OTE achievable (his previous package was £37K with a £70K OTE and package). He is immediately available for an interview/start.

VC & AV Corporate Business Development Manager, Aberdeenshire Based, Strong Track Record and Client Contacts, Available at Short Notice, Permanent

I spoke with this candidate following the long, long weekend (4 days here in the UK). He comes across as a very professional consultative sales person, with a lot to offer in terms of market knowledge, client contacts and the ability to apply new technologies to businesses, to demonstrate ROI and create solutions that work for the customer. His genuine passion for the industry comes through strongly when speaking with him.

This candidate is an extensively experienced consultative sales professional with a strong background in selling technology based solutions for business. He has strong technical knowledge of current Video Conferencing, Audio Visual and IT solutions for corporate applications. He has successfully sold video conferencing (Polycom, Cisco/Tandberg, Lifesize and Sony) and Audio Visual  technologies (control systems, projectors, displays, digital signage, audio solutions, interactive whiteboards and touchscreens) into corporate clients, most recently in the Aberdeen area, into the Oil & Gas sector and related local industries, including engineering firms, higher education and support services companies.

This candidate began his sales career working in England, selling AV solutions, primarily boardroom systems, into corporate clients. He was instrumental in developing a well-known control systems brand in the UK by proactively growing interest direct with end users. Over the course of his career so far, he has further developed his sales skills, working with senior decision makers for more “strategic” sales, and has offered more and more comprehensive solutions based on a consultative selling approach. In addition to sales skills, he has developed skills in marketing, business development (not just in terms of winning new customers, but planning and executing strategies to win business from new market verticals or geographical territories) and sales team management.

Based in Aberdeenshire for the last seven years, he is currently working for a small IT solutions company as an interim contractor, focusing on sales & marketing for the company; this is a “stop gap” position whilst he looks to find the next suitable permanent challenge where he can make use of his sales skills, knowledge of technology and passion for the industry. He is available at short notice (his current contract employers are aware that he is looking for a permanent role) and is based in Aberdeenshire, with good access to Aberdeen and North East Scotland.

His previous salary was £42.5K basic plus car and OTE, giving an overall package of £60K (evidence of earnings and case studies of projects won can be supplied on request). He is flexible on basic salary and his main priorities are the long term opportunities afforded by the role and the overall earnings potential (an OTE of £60K+ is his level).
