AV Custom Install Engineer, Strong Installation Experience, Crestron, Lutron & Control4, Kent Based, Immediately Available

I spoke to the following candidate at the end of last week and believe that his enthusiasm for AV technologies, particularly high-end residential solutions, along with his customer focused approach will make him an excellent addition to a Custom Install engineering team.

An AV Custom Install Engineer with 8 years’ experience working for a specialist custom installation company on high end residential AV systems installation, as well as Super Yacht installations and a few commercial/corporate projects too. This candidate has gained strong knowledge across a range of technologies, including rack building (he was head of the rack building team for over a year), cable terminations, system installation, including network infrastructure, control systems (mainly Lutron and Crestron with some Control4), displays, projectors and audio systems. He gained a well-rounded exposure to the wide variety of technologies integrated into contemporary whole home automation and entertainment technologies. He is confident working on his own or as part of a team.

This candidate recently left his employment on good terms (references available on request) and is actively looking for a new opportunity where he can make use of his Custom Installation skills and knowledge of AV and related technologies. He lives in Kent and is happy to travel as the role requires, being used to regular travel into London, where most of his previous projects have been located, as well as occasionally going further afield. He holds a full UK driving license, is available immediately and is looking for a salary of £23K+, but is flexible depending on the opportunity.

Senior Custom Installation Engineer, Extensive High-end Residential Project Experience, Super Yacht Experience, Available at Short Notice, Permanent

This candidate is a positive and professional engineer with a friendly personality. He is extremely knowledgeable about custom install technologies and has worked on high-end residential and super-yacht projects around the world. He has learned a lot in his time in the industry and is keen to share this and work as part of a team after a long period as a contractor.

An extensively experienced AV Engineer, this candidate has worked on many high-end residential AV and home automation projects around the world; he also has some experience of commercial installations (corporate projects) and super yacht projects (including a 29 rack installation on a 149meter yacht). He has a strong understanding of a wide range of AV technologies (displays, projectors, audio systems, etc.), control systems (including installing and commissioning Crestron, AMX, Lutron and Control4) and cabling/infrastructure (including fibre-optics). Also has experience leading other engineers on-site and works from first fix through to commissioning the completed system.

This candidate has been working freelance for twelve years and is keen to find a permanent opportunity where he will have the opportunity to work with more junior engineers and pass on the knowledge he has gained over the years, whilst making use of his hands-on installation skills. He is based in Kent and happy to travel across the South/UK as required (he has worked on install around the world and is not averse to international travel either). Looking for a salary of around £35K but he is flexible depending on the opportunity; he is available to start immediately.

AV & VC Installation Engineer, Kent Based (Easy Access to London), Strong Corporate Installation Background, Available Immediately, Permanent

I have been speaking with this candidate for a couple of weeks now; he enjoys Audio Visual technology on a personal level and loves his working day, with AV installation being his dream job. Unfortunately he has just today had confirmation of redundancy (the threat of which was why he contacted me in the first place) and so now needs to find a new role ASAP. I believe that his current employer’s loss will be someone else’s gain.

This candidate is an experienced AV Installer currently working (until today) for a systems integrator, where has enjoyed installing Crestron, AMX and Extron based integrated systems for major corporates in London. He has installed the network infrastructure, racks (including rack build), control systems, VC endpoints and Codecs (Polycom and Cisco/Tandberg), displays and projectors, as well as digital signage and IP TV systems. A technically confident installer who prides himself on the quality and speed of his work; he has been requested by name by several clients whilst in his current role.

Redundant with immediate effect, as such this candidate is actively looking for a new opportunity. He is available at short notice (he can start tomorrow in the right role), he is looking for a permanent opportunity offering good career development in the long term. He lives in the Gravesend area of Kent, with easy access to Central London and is happy to travel as the role requires. His current salary is £22.5K and he is looking to improve this to around the £25K level, but is flexible and appreciates that he needs to prove himself to a new employer. He is a British national with full right to work in the UK.

AV Engineer, Early Career with AV Installation Experience + IT Experience, London E1 Based, Available from 24th September 2012, Permanent

This candidate got in touch with me last week. He is in the early stages of his AV career. He has worked hard to break into audio visual systems integration following early experience in mainstream commercial IT installation/support roles.

This candidate has a genuine passion for AV and has been unlucky in that his current employer is restructuring just after he has joined them. I feel that he will quickly grow to be an invaluable technical team member for the right integrator or service provider.

An AV Engineer with experience working for a large AV integrator on a contract basis (initially 3 months extended to 6 months) where he was performing 1st and 2nd fix installations into corporate sites in London’s financial centre. Following completion of the contract, he accepted a permanent position with another AV & VC integrator in June 2012; unfortunately the company are now restructuring and this candidate has been let go on a last-in first-out basis and will be available to start a new role from Monday 24th September, or at one week’s notice. He previously worked in IT engineering.

This candidate has experience of installing a variety of AV technologies and infrastructure including video conferencing systems (Cisco/Tandberg & Polycom), Crestron & AMX control systems (installation but not programming), ceiling and wall mounts, various types of cabling including terminations, amplifiers, switches and displays. He also has some experience rack building, commissioning and trouble-shooting the installed system.

This candidate is actively looking for a permanent opportunity where he can build on his existing AV experience and build a long term career with a stable employer. He lives in London (E1) and is happy to travel as required. His salary was £23K + fuel expenses, but he is flexible on this for the right opportunity. He is available for interview immediately.

AV Installation Engineer, London Based, Available June 11th 2012, Permanent

This candidate is a little less experienced than most of the people we speak to here at AV Jobs; he is at an early stage of his career, but has already picked up some good AV skills and has worked in The City on high end installations, and proven his worth on a large project there. It would be great to help him find an opportunity where he can further develop and also reward his employer with dedication and enthusiasm for AV.

Currently working as an AV installation engineer on a contract basis for a top systems integrator on a multi-storey AV and VC refit for an investment bank  in The City of London. He has worked on this contract for the last 9 months and in that time has installed a wide range of AV and VC equipment to first and second fix stages, including projectors, screens, displays, racks, Crestron switches, Extron switches, Polycom VC endpoints and associated cabling. He has also pulled and terminated various types of cables across multiple floors of the installation.

This candidate is looking for a long term opportunity to work in the AV industry with an employer that can make use of his current skills and also allow him the opportunity to further develop. He has already passed the Infocomm CTS essentials course and hols a valid CSCS card as well as training in working at heights and general health & safety. He is based in East London and has a full UK driving license. He is currently earning the equivalent of £24K on his current contract and is looking for a similar level in his next role, although his main priority is a long term opportunity with a genuine career path.
