Channel Account Manager/Product Manager, Flexible on Location (Bases in Surrey and Yorks), Strong Channel Background, Good knowledge of AV Products & Market, Reseller Contacts, Immediately Available, Permanent

This candidate is known to us at AV jobs both through direct work and through their reputation in the AV channel. They stand out as a consummate professional with a high level understanding of the AV/technology market and the UK AV and IT channels.

This candidate is an experienced sales professional with a strong background in Channel Sales, including with a major UK AV distributor, where he sold a range of AV technologies in his product portfolio, including interactive technologies, projectors, displays and audio products. He still has good reseller contacts from his time in distribution and from running his own business, which specialised in AV products and managed service sales working with partners in the MOD, education and facilities management verticals. He has a good understanding of the AV market and solutions available, and is confident that he can learn a new product set very quickly. He also has sales management experience and has the potential to work in a more senior capacity in the future, but can be a self-sufficient and proactive member of the team immediately.

He left his last role due to the parent PLC lacking the funds required for investment in this start up business. He has still been working for them on an ad-hoc consultancy basis but is keen to find an opportunity to get back into the AV industry in a channel role where he can make use of his contacts and sales skills. He is currently based in Surrey, with an additional base in the North of England, and would look to settle permanently in the relevant location for his new role. He is looking for a salary of around £40K but his main priority is to find the right opportunity with a company that can offer him good earnings potential and long term career development.

Custom Installation Project Manager/Design Engineer, Europe-Wide, Residential & Marine Experience, Freelance or Permanent

I met this candidate at ISE 2013 (http://www.iseurope.org/home.php) where we managed to grab a coffee in amongst the hustle and bustle of officially the busiest AV trade show ever (http://www.avinteractive.com/frontpage-left/46030/ise-2013-attendance).

The candidate had initially contacted me via a networking website and suggested we meet up to discuss how I might be able to help to find new opportunities beyond the current freelance clients. This candidate is a technical expert with a focus on custom installation for high-end residential and marine projects; the candidate is also a great multi-lingual communicator (5 European languages including English!), well presented and friendly.

This candidate has a wealth of experience working on bespoke custom installation projects on boats and residential projects (town houses, apartments) and an excellent understanding of the relevant automation and control technologies, as well as displays, projection, audio and home cinema.

This candidate currently manages whole projects for clients (which include architects, interior designers, custom install companies and high net worth individuals) from client brief, full system design (utilising AutoCAD and Visio), infrastructure and rack layout design. The candidate then project manages the installation and programming. This involves managing client expectations, co-ordinating and managing the installation team and then testing and commissioning the system, before handing over the finished product to the client. This involves an excellent mix of technical knowledge and project focus, along with the softer client-facing and people management skills required to complete the project whilst keeping everyone informed and happy throughout.

The candidate has successfully completed projects in countries around Europe, including the UK, The Netherlands, France, Russia and Germany. Currently working as a freelancer, takes on work on a project by project basis often repeatedly with the same clients that the candidate has worked with for several years.

This candidate is at a stage in their career where they are open to new opportunities and challenges, where they can further develop as a professional and make use of their technical knowledge, communication skills and commercial awareness. The candidate enjoys working with driven problem solvers on challenging projects and will consider new freelance assignments or suitable permanent positions anywhere in Europe. The candidate can be flexible in terms of starting a new role and is flexible on salary/fees depending on the opportunity (more information available upon contact, david@avjobs.co.uk).

This candidate would be asset to any business involved in complex custom installation projects in either residential or marine setting. If you can offer this candidate an opportunity or would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact me: david@avjobs.co.uk

Field Sales Consultant, South East Based, AV/LED/Large Displays Sales Experience, Excellent Sales Track Record, Permanent

This candidate recently approached us and I have found him to be a determined and approachable sales professional with ambitions to improve himself and his career to the benefit of his next employer. Although successful in his current role, he is not utilising his full potential and will benefit from a more challenging role with a target focus.

He is an experienced sales professional with a strong track record of success in consistently delivering profit. In his current role he sells LED electronic displays to a variety of customers, including education (primarily secondary level) and leisure (for scoreboard systems and signage) as well as some SME and commercial clients (please contact me for more details). This candidate has a good understanding of LED and large format display technologies and has a keen interest in learning more about interactive AV technologies and integrated systems solutions.

Following on from his current successes, this candidate is now looking for a new opportunity where he can further develop his knowledge of AV whilst utilising his strong sales skills and work ethic. In his current role he is paid a basic of £30K + company car but earns no commission or bonus, and is not set a target. He feels that he would enjoy and achieve more in a targeted sales role where he has the opportunity to earn in line with his achievements. He is available at one month’s notice and lives in the South East with easy access to London and the South of England.

If you can offer this candidate an opportunity or would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact me: david@avjobs.co.uk

Custom Install Engineer, Strong Industry Experience, Design & Installation, Project Management Skills, Immediately Available, Permanent

I first worked with this candidate two years ago and introduced him to his current employer, where he has since enjoyed success and further developed as a technical Custom Installation professional. He is very passionate about CI, audio visual and home automation technologies and delivering the best solution for the needs of client.

This candidate has over 7 years’ experience as an engineer and project manager on custom install audio visual projects. He has a strong technical understanding of AV systems, particularly home automation, home cinema and multi-room AV. He is familiar with several popular control systems including Crestron and AMX. This candidate is also very strong on network technologies and infrastructure, including system design and installation. As well as his technical skills, he has excellent communication skills, selling to and account managing clients, as well as liaising with installation engineers and other relevant members of project teams.

His current employer is a high-end custom installation firm and his role as technical manager incorporates system design, installation, programming, commissioning and customer training; he also trains more junior members of the team on new technologies and products. Unfortunately the business unit he works for is set to close (a management decision not reflective of his performance) and he is now looking to further progress his career. This candidate is ambitious and is interested in an opportunity offering career advancement opportunities in the long term, with the chance to learn new technologies on the way. He is flexible on salary, as career progression opportunities and security are more important to him than short term financial gain; his current salary is £26K. Based in Stevenage and is used to commuting into London and travelling extensively in his current role.  His notice period is negotiable and short-term given his current employers impending closure.

I believe that this candidate will be an asset to any firm involved in residential AV projects or similar applications of technology.

Solutions Architect (Interactive Systems), Strong System Design & Presales Skills, Client Facing Ability, Hertfordshire Based, Immediately Available, Permanent

On speaking with this candidate, his enthusiasm for, and deep knowledge of, interactive technologies really comes across. He has a great understanding of the very latest technologies breaking new ground in the AV industry, but in addition to this he has the communication skills and personality to convey his knowledge and passion for the subject. I expect that his new employer will benefit technically as well as commercially from this candidate’s skill set.

An experienced solutions architect whose most recent experience has been the design, pre-sales and project management of interactive technologies for a major manufacturer with a base in the UK. This varied role has seen him design bespoke systems for large corporate clients, including interactive digital signage, kiosk solutions, point of sale solutions and arena VIP entrance solutions. The technologies he has utilised in these systems include gesture control, touch screens, laser surface, biometric facial recognition, gender and age recognition. This candidate has a strong background in IT, allowing him to design solutions from the infrastructure up. He has a proven ability to marry differing technologies into an integrated system that works in real world applications. His solutions have been and are currently being utilised in retail environments, exhibitions and sports & entertainment venues.

As well as technical design and site surveying, this candidate is strong in client facing situations, championing interactive solutions to clients and explaining the capabilities and benefits of the technologies to non-technical decision makers. He is also confident presenting solutions to clients following an in-depth pre-sales meeting to understand the business needs of the clients and creating an appropriate solution.

This candidate is now actively looking for a new opportunity that offers career progression and a focus on digital media. He is based in Hertfordshire with an easy commute into London (which he has done regularly). He is available immediately and is looking for a permanent opportunity where he can make use of his knowledge and work with interesting technologies on challenging projects. His previous salary was £45K but he is flexible on this as his main priority is to find an exciting role that offers long term career progression opportunities and the chance to keep working with cutting edge interactive tech.
