VC & AV Corporate Business Development Manager, Aberdeenshire Based, Strong Track Record and Client Contacts, Available at Short Notice, Permanent

I spoke with this candidate following the long, long weekend (4 days here in the UK). He comes across as a very professional consultative sales person, with a lot to offer in terms of market knowledge, client contacts and the ability to apply new technologies to businesses, to demonstrate ROI and create solutions that work for the customer. His genuine passion for the industry comes through strongly when speaking with him.

This candidate is an extensively experienced consultative sales professional with a strong background in selling technology based solutions for business. He has strong technical knowledge of current Video Conferencing, Audio Visual and IT solutions for corporate applications. He has successfully sold video conferencing (Polycom, Cisco/Tandberg, Lifesize and Sony) and Audio Visual  technologies (control systems, projectors, displays, digital signage, audio solutions, interactive whiteboards and touchscreens) into corporate clients, most recently in the Aberdeen area, into the Oil & Gas sector and related local industries, including engineering firms, higher education and support services companies.

This candidate began his sales career working in England, selling AV solutions, primarily boardroom systems, into corporate clients. He was instrumental in developing a well-known control systems brand in the UK by proactively growing interest direct with end users. Over the course of his career so far, he has further developed his sales skills, working with senior decision makers for more “strategic” sales, and has offered more and more comprehensive solutions based on a consultative selling approach. In addition to sales skills, he has developed skills in marketing, business development (not just in terms of winning new customers, but planning and executing strategies to win business from new market verticals or geographical territories) and sales team management.

Based in Aberdeenshire for the last seven years, he is currently working for a small IT solutions company as an interim contractor, focusing on sales & marketing for the company; this is a “stop gap” position whilst he looks to find the next suitable permanent challenge where he can make use of his sales skills, knowledge of technology and passion for the industry. He is available at short notice (his current contract employers are aware that he is looking for a permanent role) and is based in Aberdeenshire, with good access to Aberdeen and North East Scotland.

His previous salary was £42.5K basic plus car and OTE, giving an overall package of £60K (evidence of earnings and case studies of projects won can be supplied on request). He is flexible on basic salary and his main priorities are the long term opportunities afforded by the role and the overall earnings potential (an OTE of £60K+ is his level).

AV Field Sales Executive, Hertfordshire Based, Corporate Market Experience, Immediately Available, Permanent

This candidate approached me only recently and strikes me as a driven sales professional aided by a technical background (as an installation engineer). He is charismatic and plain speaking, with the ability to discuss and sell technical concepts to non-technical clients.

An experienced AV Sales Professional, this candidate has a track record of success in selling AV solutions into the corporate market in London, and has successfully done so for the last six years with an AV reseller in Hertfordshire. He has sold a wide range of AV technologies, including digital signage, interactive whiteboards, projectors, public address systems, CCTV, hearing loop systems and audio solutions.

During his time in this role, he has consistently billed £20-30K gross profit per month. His income has typically been split 60:40 between account management and new business. As well as his solutions sales activities, he also sells maintenance contracts (which are bespoke to each client for their specific system), as well a performing site surveys and producing sales proposals complete with system designs.

Sadly, he has just accepted redundancy and as such is actively looking for a new permanent opportunity. His previous salary was £25K with an OTE in the late £30K’s, plus company car and he is looking for something similar, but his main priority is to find a role that offers good earning potential as well as long term career progression. He lives in Hertfordshire and is happy to work across the South of England.

AV & VC Installation Engineer, Hertfordshire based, Available at Short Notice, Permanent

This candidate is a motivated professional who is keen to find the right permanent opportunity to help move his career forward. It is always enjoyable to speak with him and I think that he will be great asset to the right employer, offering professionalism, integrity and a very personable demeanour.

He is an experienced video conferencing & audio visual installation engineer, currently working on a contract basis in the South of England, installing Crestron and AMX based integrated AV solutions into the corporate market. He has a very strong technical understanding of the latest AV and VC technologies, perhaps beyond what might be expected of an installation engineer. He has designed, specified and installed bespoke AV systems, often managing projects himself. His VC experience includes planning, installing, configuring and maintaining video conferencing solutions from Polycom and Cisco (Tandberg). Also familiar with rack building and all kinds of cabling, including terminations.

He has strong client liaison skills as well as good project coordination experience, including scheduling work and timely ordering of required kit. Again, he is happy to go beyond the “expected” level of service given by “an installer” and enjoys surprising clients (in a good way!). Many of his projects have been for corporates in London (mostly financials) but he has also had some exposure to Custom Install work.

Now looking for a new permanent opportunity as an AV/VC installer or Project Engineer/Coordinator where he can utilise his technical knowledge, client liaison and project management skills. He is available at short notice (currently freelance) and is looking at salaries of £24K+ with Vehicle or equivalent. Based in Hertfordhire and happy to travel as required.

VC Field Engineer, Strong Background in Cisco/Tandberg & Polycom Installation & Support, Berkshire Based, 2 Weeks' Notice, Permanent

This candidate was a joy to speak to today; he is very positive about the Video Conferencing industry and the opportunities on offer. He is currently working freelance, but keen to find a permanent opportunity where he can enjoy professional development and a stable workload with a regular income.

He is an accomplished Video Conferencing Engineer with experience of the installation and support of a wide range of video conferencing solutions, including Polycom , Tandberg and Lifesize systems, as well as the associated infrastructure, including Cisco switches, IP networks, Bridges and Codecs (Codian/Tandberg). He is originally from Nigeria, where he began his VC career, and has since gained UK experience with integrators in the South of England, installing VC systems for corporate clients. He is currently freelancing, running the AV and VC services for live events, as well as subcontracting for integrators on AV and VC installations.

He is actively looking for a permanent opportunity with a company that can make use of his VC knowledge and engineering skills, as well as his client facing abilities and positive approach to work. He has a “can do” attitude and is happy to work extra hours or shifts to complete work as required. He is based in Berkshire (Southern England) and is available at two weeks’ notice. He currently holds a Tier 1 visa, allowing him full right to work in the UK, and will be eligible and applying for indefinite leave to remain (meaning he will be a permanent UK resident) in January 2013. He is flexible on salary, and has suggested £24-28K as a guide, but his main priority is to find a long term opportunity where he can enjoy career progression.

Crestron Programmer, Corporate Integrated Systems & Home Automation/Custom Install Experience, London Based, Immediately Available

I spoke with the following candidate today and he is highly motivated to find an opportunity in Crestron Programming; he has recently returned the UK following a travelling adventure and is ready for the next serious challenge in his career.

This candidate has extensive “on the job” experience of Crestron Programming; he has programmed control systems in a variety of settings in the UK and overseas, including high-end boardroom systems for blue chip corporates, as well as home automation systems for high net worth individuals.

He is familiar with Crestron GUI touchscreen control panels and programming Crestron processors to control a wide range of Audio Visual and related technologies, including displays, projectors, video conferencing, security cameras, alarms systems and lighting. He has also programmed IPads as a user interface for whole-house control.

Now living on the Eastern edge of London, this candidate is immediately available and looking for an opportunity to make use of his knowledge of control systems programming; he is happy to travel as required. This candidate would enjoy a role where he can further develop his knowledge of Crestron (he has completed several of their courses, but not yet achieved certification) and other control systems, such as AMX and Lutron, which he has touched on in the past.

In terms of salary requirements, again this candidate is flexible, as his main priority is to get back to work and get his career moving in the right direction; he has suggested £0-40K as a guide, depending on the role and long term opportunities.

If you can offer this candidate an opportunity or would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact me: david@avjobs.co.uk
